what is the best heating blanket for swimming pools?
Many customers wonder which model of heating mat to choose for their pool. There is a wide variety of models on the market, which can be confusing for some customers. To select the right solar cover for you, the first thing you need to know is the answer to the question: What do I want to achieve with my heating cover?
Our configurator is designed to guide you through these questions, but we could say that it boils down to these four most common cases:
Standard
Blue models of different qualities and microns. They offer very good performance in all areas, but are not specifically designed for a single field. They have a nice blue colour.
Heating
Transparent or black models. The transparent models are the ones that will bring more temperature to your pool, with a discreet design that allows you to enjoy the lights of your pool.
Anti-algae
They reduce and almost eliminate the proliferation of algae and other pathogens that need sunlight. Some models are able to heat the water, others keep it cooler.
Cool
Models that protect the water from sunlight and the heat it brings, keeping the pool cooler.
Once you have selected the type of blanket that best suits your needs, you must select the exact model. This will depend on your budget and usage. As a general rule Swimhome recommends GeoBubble and OXO, as they offer greater durability than other brands even with less microns.
Note that microns indicate the thickness of the material, hence the durability of the material. The higher this value, the more years you will be able to use your heating blanket.
Additionally you can choose to add perimeter reinforcement in one width, two widths or full perimeter reinforcement. The reinforcement will extend the life of your blanket, giving a higher quality finish and preventing tearing due to wear and tear or friction with the coping stone. Finally, you can add or not the eyelets, this allows the fastening of some rollers with elastic bands.
