Unique EnergyGuard Selective Transmission Technology
Maximising pool temperature and inhibiting algae growth at the same time is now possible with award winning light filtration material, meaning there is no need to compromise between temperature and chemical savings. Offering optimised solar gain, the patented EnergyGuard® Selective Transmission material provides the best possible balance between reduced solar heat gain, chemical use and filtration, making it the most innovative solar cover available today. The bubble layer of the material uses a nocturnal blue pigment that gives the material its selective transmission properties. This functions as a selective filter that absorbs the visible wavelengths responsible for photosynthesis.
This absorbed energy passes into the pool by conduction, while the transmission properties of the bubble layer allow wavelengths of infrared (IR) radiation to pass through the material and be absorbed directly by the water.
Award-winning material
The EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission has been awarded the 2018 Business Innovation Award for delivering significant social and economic impact through the application of Physics.
Selective transmission
The bubble layer of the material uses a nocturnal blue pigment that gives the material its selective transmission properties. The pigment formulation acts as a selective filter and absorbs the visible wavelengths responsible for photosynthesis. This absorbed energy passes into the pool by conduction, while the transmission properties of the bubble layer allow the wavelengths of infrared (IR) radiation to pass through the material and be absorbed directly by the water.
Waste and algae control
In addition to preventing debris from entering the pool, the EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission cover helps maintain a pleasant, warm swimming environment by using light filtration technology to absorb wavelengths that promote algae growth, reducing the cost and time spent on maintenance.
Heat retention
The unique profile of GeoBubble® air cell technology offers both buoyancy and an insulating air space to control heat transfer, giving the material the ability to regulate the pool environment and keep it at the desired temperature.
Evaporation control
Our materials reduce water loss through evaporation by acting as a barrier between the water surface and the atmosphere. By simply covering the pool with the material, evaporation is reduced by more than 98%, resulting in the preservation of water resources and increased temperatures inside the pool.
